Our history

The RosFranklin Society was founded in 2024 by Petra Danek, a high school student with a passion for STEM and a drive to make a difference. While working at Mathnasium of Arcadia over the summer, Petra noticed a troubling trend—many young girls lacked confidence in their STEM abilities. One conversation stood out: a younger student simply said, “Girls aren’t good at STEM.” The words hit Petra deeply, as she once believed the same—until Mathnasium helped her realize her potential. Inspired and determined, she turned to her own circle of talented, driven friends and founded the RosFranklin Society: a community to empower and uplift girls in STEM through mentorship, outreach, and shared passion.

Our mission

The RosFranklin Society is an after-school mentorship program run by high school girls who are passionate about STEM and want to share their enthusiasm with elementary and middle school girls. The program aims to raise girls’ curiosity and confidence in STEM subjects and create a sisterhood of like-minded individuals and role models.
